Titles:

Titles:

This is the website I have taken the fonts from: http://www.dafont.com/

All of the fonts I have researched have been used with the title of our opening sequence (Final Warning) I have done this so I can see what the fonts look like in use.

This font above is called "death font", I would consider this a contender for our groups opening sequence titles because it is different not all the letters follow the same rule, which reflects our film not everything is as it seems some things happen to the characters for a reason and some things happen to the characters without a reason or a reason that will never be revealed.

This font above is called "mystery forest", I would consider this a contender for our groups opening sequence titles because it reflects our opening sequence scenes, they are all in the forest/woods and this font symbolises a woodland area because the font looks like it has been made out of wood.

This font above is called "cold night for alligators , I wouldn't consider this as a title for our groups opening sequence  in reason of its a bit over the top, our opening sequence will have blood in but not to the extent we could use this as a title. However I like the style of this font I think it is just a bit exaggerated so if there was a font which had some of this fonts traits and not too much of the bloody effect, I think our group would definitely consider it as a contender.

This font above is called "crime time six", this font has been spotted by another member of our group (Lindsay Brophy), I agree with the decision she chose for picking this font as a contender. I believe this font would be a strong contender for our groups opening sequence because it is an original font which has similar styles which have been used in many horror opening sequences, according to me I think this style of font is very popular because of its simplicity. However we wouldn't show any diversity when using this font and we wouldn't be taking risks with our audience when using this font, this is the downside to using it.

Story Boards:

These are the storyboards our group created and I scanned and uploaded, these storyboards are great to use because it helps you to plan the film, because you don't want to jump straight into filming because your film wont be very good and it won't have any meaning. Through our group doing several drafts of storyboards we have finally come to a group decision on our opening sequence which has been drawn and explained shot by shot above.

Location Permission

Location Permission

This is the form which myself and Lindsay filled out, it is asking permission from the local council for us to film in their area for a local school project, in this document above we have explained the contents of the film, the number of our crew, the dates and the props which are used etc. We have to fill in this document because otherwise we are not authorized to film in their area and we could get fined.

This is the permit that we have received from Sutton Council for us to film in Nonsuch Park.

Storyboard Animatic:

Storyboard Animatic:

This is the Animatic which our group made, it consists of all the shots from our storyboard with a sound track (license free)and titles off of Imovie, so really this was a draft of our opening sequence but without real life acting. I believe through our group creating an Animatic it means we can see what our sequence would look like as a final draft, this means that anything we thought looked good on paper and it wasn't as we imagined in our Animatic we know we will have to change it.

Shooting schedule scanned in:

Shooting schedule scanned in:

This is our shooting schedule which our group created and I uploaded, this is a guideline for our group so we know where we are going at what times etc. It keeps our group on track and organised without this I don't think we would use our time as wisely as we could.

Character descriptions scanned in:

Character descriptions scanned in:

These are the pictures I uploaded of character descriptions, simply it is a character profile for all the actors in our group it describes their personality, what they look like and other details. I believe this is an essential piece of planning for our group because without these character descriptions we wouldn't know what our characters would look or be like therefore the film wouldn't have as much meaning as it would have if the actors knew the characters details, therefore making a better film.

Casting:

Casting:

Choice of actors and why we have chosen them:

I the murderer have voluntarily chosen my role because I believe I would be a great actor as a villain because I have played this role many times before.

George 2 is part of the couple he has chosen this role because he thinks he would perform well in this role.

Lucinda volunteered to be the victim because she is apparently very good at holding a still position.

Lindsay is the other part of the couple and volunteered her role because she believed she would be best at this role.

Through choosing our roles I believe this will cause a great effect on the work rate of the group and it will produce a great output in the end.

Prop List:

Prop List:

George: Murderer:

I am a murderer so I shall wear all black clothing, and try to hide my identity so to do this I will wear many layers of dark clothing, because stereotypically murderers in horror films don't wear bright summery colour clothes.

Lucinda: First victim:

Lucinda is the young girl who is found dead by the couple, so she will wear blue clothing to symbolise she is an innocent girl. As being the victim Lucinda will need the Scrunched up note saying "your next".

George 2: Male significant other:

George 2 is the boy friend so he will wear navy blue coloured clothing so he doesn't have any symbolical features this is to show he is a normal boyfriend.

Lindsay: Girl significant other:

Lindsay is the girlfriend so she will wear bright clothing to show she is young and innocent, so stereotypically she is a normal girlfriend. Also Lindsay is walking a dog who finds the body.

Props, Location and Costumes:

Props, Location and Costumes:

Props:

A mobile phone because the couple need to call the emergency services about the terrifying event that just happened.

A dog because it smells the victims body and makes the couple aware of the situation.

The note in the girls hand; "your next".

Location:

A park because this is where the main event happens.

The walk to the park, to show the couple before they find the body and to build tension.

Costumes:

Normal clothes for the couple and a dark costume for the victim to foreshadow when they find her that she is dead.

Sound used in our opening horror sequence:

Sound used in our opening horror sequence:

I don't think we should use a nursery rhyme because it's very popular and predictable, I think by using different sound effects to get away from the norm would make the opening sequence unique and individual. Through the opening sequence being unique and individual I think it would be more popular to the audience because they would want to know what's going to happen but because it being far from the norm it will be hard to guess. Also there wouldn't be a point in our group using demonic laughs because it wouldn't suit our plot.

I think our opening sequence should consist of a flurry of strings and sinister music because they would work well together to build and create tension on the audience also it would suit our genre very well with our plot. Through using sinister music it will foreshadow something is going to happen, therefore making the audience want to watch the rest of the film.

An example of a soundtrack I would consider to use in my horror opening sequence would be the one I've put a link to below because it builds tension very well and it is free to use (license free):
